Spring into Art!

  • Austin Public Library - University Hills 4721 Loyola Lane Austin, TX, 78723 United States (map)

Join us as we learn about life on the Texas Frontier in the 19th Century! During this session, we will experiment with the process of developing cyanotypes and drawing storytelling maps! Participants will receive all of the necessary supplies along with guided instructions. There is no fee and attendance is open to all ages!

This activity is part of the Elisabet Ney Museum's brand-new program, Breaking the Mold: Mobile Art Crates. The crate, itself, and the inside contents were designed by local artist, Beili Liu, as a way to illuminate Elisabet Ney's life on the Texas Frontier while enlisting STEAM focused teaching methodologies.

The museum's education staff will bring the Breaking the Mold program into local fourth grade classrooms this fall. To learn more about this initiative, please contact our Education Coordinator at lindsay.barras@austintexas.gov.
