PANEL 2 UNSPOILED BEAUTIES

Did you know there are over 152 different types of native Texas plants to be found in the Ney landscape including nearly 30 different types of grasses? One of our favorite and common grasses is the Little Bluestem or Schizachyrium scoparium. If you look closely you can see it really does look blue! If you are visiting in the fall it looks more rust colored, and you can see it blooming with its little white tufted seed heads.

Another favorite of ours is the state grass of Texas: Sideoats Grama or Bouteloua curtipendula. This grass blooms from June through November so you have a lot of chances to see it’s red-orange seed heads that hang to the side giving it it’s name
